Frequently asked questions

How do I change the app's language?

In the app: Settings → Language. On Android 13 and newer you can also use Android Settings → Apps → FiFi Recipes → Language. All 25 languages supported by fifi.cooking are available, including full right-to-left layouts for Arabic, Urdu, Persian, Pashto and Hebrew.

Keyboard shortcuts (tablets, Chromebooks)

Ctrl+1 Home · Ctrl+2 Chapters · Ctrl+F Search · Ctrl+4 Kids · Ctrl+5 Settings · Esc Back. Arrow keys and Tab move between cards, Enter opens them, and Shift+F10 or right-click opens the share menu. In Kids steps, ← / → move between steps. Press Meta+/ to see the list.

Recipe links open in the browser, not the app

Android Settings → Apps → FiFi Recipes → Open by default → make sure "Open supported links" is on and fifi.cooking is listed.

Does the app work offline?

The app streams recipe data from fifi.cooking, so an internet connection is required. Recently viewed recipes and images are cached on-device for a while, which speeds things up.

How does Kids mode work?

Kids recipes have a get-ready checklist (wash hands, apron, grown-up nearby), tickable ingredients, tool lists, big step-by-step cards, and an allergen banner. Steps marked for grown-ups are always flagged. The screen stays awake during cooking steps.

Why do some recipes show videos?

Some recipes link to Dr. Fatma's YouTube videos. They play inside the app via youtube-nocookie.com embeds, or you can open them in the YouTube app.
